Services were Monday, August 22 for Ruby Christena Nielsen, 81 who died August 19, 1994 at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg, South Dakota.

Ruby Christena Nielsen was born October 2, 1912 at Hurley, South Dakota to Edward and Johanna Jensen Nielsen. She graduated from Hurley High School in 1930. She attended two summer sessions in Springfield and then taught school for three years.

She married Harold Nielsen June 25, 1934 at her parent’s home. They farmed west of Viborg.

She moved into Viborg in 1973, after he husband’s death August 7, 1972.

She was a member of Spring Valley Lutheran Church.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded death by her parents, one son, Eldon and two brothers, Rueben and Edwin.

She is survived by one son, Vernon and his wife, Carol of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a daughter, Frances and her husband, Fred Aman of Blair; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Walter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
