Waldo B. Nielsen, Former Dana Music Head, Died July 14

Professor Waldo B. Nielsen died in Eugene, Oregon on July 14th at the age of 82. He served in the Music Department at Dana College for several years and directed the Dana College Choir.

He was born in Denmark on June 28, 1894 and came to the United States in 1914. He served in World War I and came to Dana in 1924. He was married to Toly Host in Copenhagn in 1921. She died in 1948. They had three sons.

He resided in Eugene, Oregon since 1941 and kept up his musical career as organist, director and piano teacher for many years. In 1954 he married Elly (Bidi) Wedege in Denmark.

Survivors are his wife, three sons, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
