Ruby M. Nieman, 91

Services for Ruby M. Nieman, 91 off Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska who died March 8, 1992 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont were Wednesday, March 11 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs. Rev. Fred Hertwig officiated. Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery at Arlington.

Ruby M. Nieman was born December 24, 1900 at Arlington to Adam and Lena Laaker Bierman.

She married Albert E. Nieman January 9, 1924 at Arlington. They farmed near Fontanelle from 1924 to 1954. They then moved to Fremont. In 1970, they moved to Cedar Bluffs.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Dorcus Society and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert July 25, 1984; a brother, Otto Bierman; and sisters, Hilda Franke, Frieda Gottsch and Clara Bierman.

She is survived by a son, Gordon Nieman of Dewey, Oklahoma; a daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Virgil) Braasch of Cedar Bluffs; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Elaine Beyers was organist.

Douglas Nieman was honorary pallbearer. Pallbearers were Byron Braasch, Jeff Spiker, Keith Nieman, Norman Franke, Irwin Dickmeyer and Steve Schumacher.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church or Cedar Bluffs Senior Center.

Moser Memorial Chapel at Cedar Bluffs was in charge of arrangements.
