Lonnie A. Nilges, 51

Lonnie A. Nilges, 51, of Blair, formerly of Wisner, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, in Blair.

Services were Monday, June 14 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner. Reverend Alan Baglien officiated. Burial was in the Wisner Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Cook, Loren Denker, fay Hiykel, George Pearson, Gary Thies, Theran Koehn, Keith Will and Roger Nottleman. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Preister, Bob Duncan, Veto Daprizio, Terry Pressler and Roger Brand.

Lonnie Arthur Nigles was born December 28, 1947 in Pender. He was baptized in the Catholic faith and later was confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner.

He attended Wisner Public Schools and graduated from Wisner High School in 1966.

On June 4, 1967, he married Trudy Braun at the United Methodist Church in Wisner.

He owned and operated Lon’s Conoco in Wisner.

He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner and served on the church council. He was a member of the Wisner Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years, a member of the Wisner Izaak Walton League of America and belonged to the Wisner Chamber of Commerce.

In 1986, he and his family moved to Blair where he was a member of the First Lutheran Church and belonged to the Tangier Shrine in Omaha.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy of Blair, his father, Art Nilges and his wife LaVonne of Pender; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Hensley Stewart of Omaha; son, Jeffery Nilges of Blair; sister, Tami Rabe of Wisner; brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Roxanne Meyer of Wisner; brother, Doug Nilges of Pender; and two grandchildren, Tarron and Kershaun Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Robert Meyer.

The Kuzelka Funeral Home in Wisner was in charge of arrangements.
