Charles H. Ninegar, 86, Buried With Honors

Funeral services were held Saturday for Charles H. Ninegar, of 1762 Nebraska Street following his death at Memorial Community Hospital on Tuesday, January 25th.

Mr. Ninegar had been a resident of Blair for the past six years. He was born at Hunts Corner, New York on July 29, 1885. He was 86 years of age at the time of his death. He grew up in New York but as a young man he moved to Bayard, Nebraska where he became a chemist in a sugar refinery at that place. He held this position for many years, retiring eventually and moving to Blair.

While living at Bayard he became interested in Masonry and he rose through the offices of the lodge, serving as Secretary and Master of the Bayard lodge. For thirteen years he was Grand Tyler of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska, a rank Masonry reached by only a few. He had other civic interests, too. For 21 years he was chairman of the American Red Cross at Bayard and also filled lesser civic services of his community.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel and by two sons and two daughters. The sons are Dr. Louis Ninegar of Kearney State College (Nebr.) and Tom Ninegar, of Woodland, California. The daughters are Mrs. Roberta Gooler, of __onrovia, California and Mrs. Etlar Olson (Helen) of Blair. There are 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday at the Bendorf Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Sackett conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery with graveside Masonic Services carried out by Washington Lodge No. 21, A.F. & A. M.

Grandsons were pallbearers for the service. In addition there were the following honorary pall-bearers: Alvin Ohrt, George Rohwer, George Stratbucker, Richard Burniester, Richard Larson and Ted Stewart.
