Barbara Jen Noel, 75

Former Blair resident Barbara Jean Noel, 75, of Newton, Kan., died April 13, 2006, in Newton.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Iowa. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Barbara Jean Noel was born April 17, 1930, in Keosauqua, Iowa, to Seth and Imogene (Forquer) Farwell.

On Oct. 30, 1953, she married Robert Noel in Des Moines, Iowa.

She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1948 and later attended Drake University in Des Moines for two years. She lived in Blair prior to moving to Des Moines, where she was a legal secretary for the Davis Law Firm until her retirement. She taught private lessons in piano and oboe, and was active in theater in both Des Moines and Blair.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Des Moines.

She is survived by sons, Brent Noel of Newton and Robert Noel of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughters, Melissa Delaney of Blair and Amy Pirtle of Des Moines; three grandchildren; sister, Ruth Francis of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1987.
