Funeral services for Wilma L. Noel of Kennard were held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial was in the Kennard Cemetery with Rev. Debra Thompsett-Welch officiating.

Wilma was 65 years of age at the time of her death which occurred on Wednesday evening after an apparent heart attack.

Wilma Bates was born on November 26, 1923 at Kennard, Nebraska to Charles and Gertrude Pettit Bates. She graduated from Kennard High School and later married Rolla Noel. They lived in Kennard until moving to Hawaii in 1967, where they lived until 1977, at which time they moved to Thornton, Colorado. In 1983 Wilma moved to Kennard and resided there until her death.

She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and the Kennard American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Carol Noel of St. Paul, Nebraska; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Larry Blake of Oak Harbor, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tara, Nicole and Noel Blake; Patrick, Curtis and Sarah Noel.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Rolla in 1978.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
