Garfield Norby Died At Blair Last Friday

Garfield P. Norby, former rural mail carrier out of the Blair post office died Friday, August 13th at the McBride Nursing Home in Blair. He had been in poor health for a number of years.

Mr Norby was born at Weston, Nebraska September 7, 1896 and was 68 years of age at the time of his death.

He became a rural mail carrier at Oakland, Nebraska but moved to Blair to take over Blair Route 3. He served the postal service 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, by a sister Mrs. Ruth Jensen of Lincoln and by a brother Joseph of Bancroft and by five nieces and three nephews.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the I.O.O.F. lodge at Blair.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 16th at 2 P.M. at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Frank Nielsen in charge. Burial under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alfred O. Sick, Ray L. Hewett, Leslie Offen, W.E. Gustin, LeRoy Creach and Carroll Thornburgh.
