Mary M. Novak, 91, of Blair died Saturday, October 17, 1987, at Crowell Memorial Home.

She was born October 3, 1896, in Orum to Fred and Paulina (Christensen) Knutsen.

Mary attended school in Orum, and on October 15, 1924, she was united in marriage to Walter J. Novak in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She had been a resident of Crowell Home since March, 1977.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Marie Novak of Blair; three grandchildren, Ronald and Gary Novak of Blair, and Mrs. Marty (Jolene) Hug of Hastings, and by four great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter (in May, 1977), and two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Larsen and Laura Knutsen.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 1987, at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home, with Rev. Carl F. Schattauer officiating.

Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Norman Buchardt, Jack Eriksen, Andrew Hansen, Jr., Howard Larsen, Rolland Long and Lloyd Nielsen.
