GOOD SHEPHERD RESIDENT SERVICE AT CREIGHTON

Funeral services were held for Carrie M. Nygaard at Creighton, Nebraska last Wednesday following her death in Blair at the Memorial Community Hospital on Sunday, June 27th. Mrs. Nygaard, a former resident of Washington County, had been making her home at the Good Shepherd Home.

She was born at Kallerup, Denmark, June 19, 1891. As an infant she moved with her family to the United States and the family settled in the vicinity of Gordon, Nebraska. Later they moved to the Creighton, Nebraska area.

On August 19, 1914 she was united in marriage to Nels P. Nygaard. They farmed for a number of years and then moved to the Blair area in 1940. They continued farming in this area for 14 years, returning to Creighton in 1954.

She became a resident of the Good Shepherd Home in 1965.

She is survived by six children. They are: Rev. Marvin Nygaard, Huxley, Iowa; Vera (Mrs. Clarence Nelson) and Alta (Mrs. Carl Jorgensen) of Creighton, Nebraska, Wilma (Mrs. Dale Hill) of Milton, Pennsylvania, Rev. Gerhard Nygaard of Northfield, Minnesota, Janice (Mrs. Frederik Jensen) of Evan, Minnesota.

Three sisters and one brother also survive. There are 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
