Louise D. Voss, 94

Louise D. Voss, 94, of Fremont, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow services in the German Cemetery.

Viewing will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Louise D. Voss was born Sept. 25, 1920, to Charles and Anna (Wiese) Voss at the Voss farm south of Blair. She attended Sunny Side Grade School and graduated from Blair High School in 1938. She was confirmed and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington. She was a member of the Blair Eagles Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Kennard Legion Auxiliary.

Louise worked at the Bomber Plant in Bellevue and Benis Bag in Omaha. She left work to go home to care for her mother until she passed away. She stayed at the farm with her dad and brother LeRoy then later went on to work at Wilkinson Manufacturing in Fort Calhoun.

In June of 1973, she married John W. Voss at St. John’s in Bennington. After his passing in 1984, she stayed on the home farm until 2008 when she moved to Nye Square Independent Living in Fremont.

Louise is survived by her nieces and nephews: Joyce (Tom) Williams of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Gladys Hurt of Fremont, Sylvia (Don Kerwin) Lauritsen-Kerwin of Fremont, Nancy Schank of Fremont, Jeanette (Rich) Crouch of Fremont and Jerry (Susan) Lauritsen of Atlas, Okla.; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Goodrich, Alberta Voss and Kay Voss; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister Gladys Lauritsen; brothers: LeRoy and Elmer Voss; and nephew Dennis Voss.

Memorials are suggested to the German Cemetery Association or St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington.
