Dorothy Francis Frost, 97

Dorothy Francis Frost, 97, of Blair, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, in Omaha, while she was on hospice care.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at the Blair Congregational Church, with a luncheon to follow interment.

Dorothy Francis Gibson was born Sept. 5, 1917, to Alexander and Katherine Gibson in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1935.

She was united in marriage to Donald Frost on Feb. 28, 1936, at Albion. To this union were born four sons: Donald William of Wasilla, Ala., Kenneth of Lincoln, Richard of Johnstown, Colo., and Danny of Omaha.

Dorothy was a devoted and loving spouse and mother. She took much pride in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After her own children were raised, she worked at a variety of occupations. Her final position was as warehouse manager of a mail-order firm in Blair. She retired in 1977.

She was the eldest member of the Blair Congregational Church in Blair. She valued greatly her membership, and especially the warm, sincere welcoming she always received when able to attend.

She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by sons: Donald W. (Sharon), Kenneth (Diane), Richard (Linda), Danny (Patricia); brother Richard Gibson (Susan) of Oceanside, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren;17 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Blair Congregational Church or the Blair Fire and Rescue Squad.
