Helen M. Andreasen, 88 of Blair, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Helen M. Andreasen was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Elba to Thomas and Frances (Andrewjeski) Boruch. She graduated from high school in Elba and attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Omaha.

On April 6, 1940, she married John Andreasen in Elba.

Mr. and Mrs. Andreasen worked together in the businesses they owned, which included Advance Cleaners, the Blair Marina and the Cottonwood Marina. Mrs. Andreasen also worked as a registered nurse at the Blair Clinic.

She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and was very active in the American Cancer Society. She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Rockford Shanks of Blair; Jane and Michael Swain of Gardiner, Maine, and Diane Wigg of Eden Prairie, Minn.; son, Daniel Andreasen of Blair; daughter-in-law, Karen Andreasen of Blair; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and a son, John, Jr.

Memorials may be directed to St. Francis Borgia Building Fund or the Blair Rescue Squad.
