Accident claim Blairite

A Friday accident in rural Washington County claimed the life of a recent Blair graduate.

Nicholas Campbell, 19, Blair, was pronounced dead at Memorial Community Hospital Friday morning.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Campbell had been a passenger in a 1992 Buick Park Avenue driven by Jacob Stukey, 18, Blair. At about 8:30 a.m., Stukey was traveling north on County Road 27 when he allegedly failed to stop at stop sign at the intersection of CR 27 and CR 26. Upon entering the intersection, Stukey’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a westbound 2005 Chevy pickup driven by Derrick Schneider, 25, Kennard.

Schneider was transported to Memorial Community Hospital for possible injuries, while Stukey was transported by helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center.

Sheriff Mike Robinson said the accident is still under investigation.

Campbell graduated from Blair High School in May with the Class of 2007.

Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at First Lutheran Church in Blair with burial in the Blair Cemetery. A complete obituary may be found on page 2A.

Nicholas C. Campbell, 19 of Blair, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in rural Blair after being involved in an automobile accident.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Nicholas Charles Campbell was born Sept. 19, 1988, in Omaha to Russell and Kimberly (Morford) Campbell. He graduated from Blair High School in 2007.

He worked with his father in the construction business. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with his friends, and especially being by the Missouri River.

He is survived by his mother and father, Russ and Kim Campbell of Blair; sisters, Kelly and Mikayla, both of Blair; grandparents, Buzz and Karen Campbell, also of Blair, Dick and Pat Morford of Omaha; great-grandmother, Harriett Morford of Omaha.

Memorials are to the donor’s choice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
