Arthur Kempcke, 91

Arthur Kempcke, 91, of Blair died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, with family receiving friends at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Arthur Kempcke was born Sept. 17, 1923.

He served in the U.S. Army until his father died and he came home to farm. He married Marilyn Reeh of Fort Calhoun on Jan. 16, 1949. He continued to farm all of his life in Washington County. He spent his spare time restoring antique tractors.

Arthur served as president of the school board at Goll School, was a member of the Burt-Washington County Drainage Board, a member of the American Legion and was the president of the Blair Rural Fire Board.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son Jeffrey of Blair and special friend Lyn Pfaltzgraff of Omaha; daughter and husband Sue and Duane Hilgenkamp of Arlington; grandson Brandon (Abbie) Kempcke; granddaughters: Kiley (Nate) Huber, Angie (Jimmy) March and K. C. Hilgenkamp; great-grandsons: Jackson Kempcke, Benton Huber and Riley March; great-granddaughters: Kember and Havah Huber, Heidi, Zoe and Maggie March, and Kendall Kempcke.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Paul and Elvena Kempcke; and brothers: Eldred and Gordon.
