JOHN ANDREASEN DIES SUDDENLY ON FRIDAY

Funeral services were Monday, April 11, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for John J. Andreasen, who died April 8, 1983, at his Blair home.

The Rev. Daniel Galas officiated. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

John J. Andreasen was born September 23, 1915, in Blair to Charles and Anna Munson Andreasen. He graduated from Blair High School.

He married Helen Boruch in Elba, Nebraska, on April 6, 1940.

He operated Advance Cleaners over 20 years. He was business manager for the Blair Eagles and sold real estate through Hansen Agency.

He was a past city councilman and president of the Blair Chamber of Commerce; past member of Blair Fire Department, Blair Lions Club and Blair American Legion Commander. He was a member of 40 at 8 and was past District 8 Commander of the American Legion. He served his country during World War II in the Army.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, John Andreasen, Jr., Blair, and Dan Andreasen of Omaha; and by three daughters, Mrs. Rockford (Mary) Shanks, Glenwood, Iowa; Mrs. Michael (Jane) Swain, Richmond, Maine; and Mrs. Stephen (Diane) Wigg, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Mary) Vinton, Blair; and Helen Carnes, South Yarmouth, Massachusetts; and his mother, Anna Andreasen, Blair, also survive him.

Pallbearers were Howard Shanahan, Gus Nelson, Les Miller, Jr., Jess Wright, Bernie Kros and Wayne Steinbaugh.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Gutschow, Don Feer, J.B. Long, Emery Nelson, Asmus Weise, Ed Thompson, Kelly Ryan, Gordon Vinton, Allen Gamet, Bill Hunt and Ernie Bohs.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
