Funeral services were held on Monday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. for a retired Arlington business-man, Clarence Kassebaum. Mr. Kassebaum died on Thursday, June 20, 1985 at the Memorial Hospital in Fremont.

Mr. Kassebaum was a retired service station operator, tank truck operator and also had a corn-shelling service.

Mr. Kassebaum was born on November 21, 1904 at Arlington. He died at the age of 80 years and services and burial were at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. The Rev. Dennis Maaske officiated with Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

On March 21, 1928, Clarence married Viola Hilgenkamp at the St. Paul’s Church north of Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Viola; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Phyllis) Jacobs of Arlington; a brother, George Kassebaum of West Point; and sisters, Frieda Kassebaum of Omaha and Mrs. Lloyd (Lena) Cox of Jerdon, Montana. There are also six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials are being suggested for the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Casper and Louise (Stork) Kassebaum, brothers Ed, Herman, Oscar and Albert; and one sister, Alvia Allison.

Organist was Dennis Godeman.

Pallbearers were Micky Jacobs, Jackie Jacobs, Jerry Jacobs, Nate Tedrow, Randy Bovil and David Hilgenkamp.
