Gladys I. Beavers, 86

Gladys I. Beavers, 86, of Fremont died May 29, 1998, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Services were Monday at First United Methodist Church in Fremont with the Rev. Ron Croom officiating. Pallbearers were Leonard and Dale Lauritsen, Bill Springer, Dyral Dunklau, Jim Akin and Mike Stolley.

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Gladys I. Childers was born Jan. 10, 1912, in Lebanon to John and Lottie (Horton) Childers. She grew up in Nelson and was a graduate of Nelson High School.

She married Victor D. Beavers on Nov. 26, 1932, at Mankato, Kan. They lived in Superior, Denver, Colo., and Ortonville, Minn., but most of her life was spent in Fremont.

She had worked at the former Campbell’s Soup Co. in Fremont, and the former J C Penney's Store and the former J.M. McDonald’s Store in downtown Fremont. She was an Amway Distributor. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont and the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does.

Mr. Beavers died on April 5, 1976.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Delvin Westermann of Arlington; and two grandchildren, Keith Westermann of Fremont and Amy Westermann of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant daughter.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, Fremont, or Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
