WILMA J. ANDREASEN, 88

Former Washington County resident Wilma J. Andreasen, 88, of Fremont, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services were Thursday, May 29, at First United Methodist Church in Fremont with the Rev. Melanie Adams officiating. Interment was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Wilma J. Andreasen was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Beloit, Kan., to T.L. and Josephine (Brown) Cavender. She grew up at Lyons and was a graduate of Lyons High School.

On Jan. 15, 1933, she married Orval E. Andreasen in Lyons.

The Andreasens lived in Blair until moving to Walthill in 1950. Mrs. Andreasen was a licensed cosmetologist and had a beauty shop in Walthill. She moved to Fremont in 1961, where she was employed as a sales clerk at the Gambles Store in Fremont.

Mrs. Andreasen was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fremont, where she was a member of the church’s Sarah Circle, and was a former treasurer of the Circle.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry S. and Jackie Andreasen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Janet I. Andreasen of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Karen Andreasen of Oakdale, Calif.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval, in 1985; son, Richard; and a brother, Francis “Bud” Cavender.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, Fremont, or the American Cancer Society.

Note: Wilma is buried in Blk 8 Lot 11 Sp 5 in the Kennard Cemetery.
