Frances E. Beck, 92

Funeral services were Saturday, April 21 at First Lutheran Church of Fremont for Frances E. Beck, 92 of Arlington who died April 19, 1990 at Good Shepherd Home in Blair. Rev. Robert Hansen officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Frances Mikkelsen was born March 24, 1898 in California. She was raised in Denmark and returned to the United States at age 17.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont. She married John L. Beck May, 1923 in Omaha. They operated a dairy in Omaha and she was a telephone operator.

In 1939, they moved to the Arlington area where they farmed. She lived on the farm until moving to Good Shepherd Home in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, June 26, 1973; her parents; brothers, Chris, John, and Jim; and sisters, Marie, Hannah, Rosa, Margarita and Freida.

She is survived by a son, John Beck of Arlington; a sister, Bess Malnick of Camarillo, California; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mark Hart, Dennis Decker, Robert Pfeiffer, Monte Menzel, Alan Pinkerton and Larry Voss.

Nick Engel was organist. Lon Olson was soloist.

Memorials have been established to the church and the American Cancer Society.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
