George Kassebaum

West Point --- George J. Kassebaum, 81, of West Point, died in a Lincoln hospital Monday, Oct. 18, 1993, after a one-car accident near David City.

Kassebaum was born June 30, 1912, in Arlington and attended school there. He was a car salesman at Lubker Inc. Ford car sales in West Point before retiring.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Point.

Kassebaum married Margaretha Neels Aug. 25, 1934. She died Aug 7, 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Roger of Buckeye, Ariz., and Gary Kassebaum Sr. of Scribner; a daughter Bonnie Elkins of York; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. The Rev. Carl Kramer will officiate. Visitation will be all today and until noon Thursday, both a Ben Stapl Funeral Chapel in West Point, then at the church until service time. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in West Point.
