Arlington Woman Died At Her Home Sunday; Funeral At St. Paul’s

ARLINGTON --- Mrs. Casper Kassebaum, 73, died at her home here Sunday after an illness which had kept her bedfast since last March.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. The W.A. Reckmeyer & Son funeral home had charge of arrangements.

A Louise Stork, Mrs. Kassebaum, was born near here Sept. 28, 1874, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stork. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s.

She and Casper Kassebaum were married in February, 1897, and lived on a farm northeast of town until 1945. At that time they retired and moved into Arlington. They noted their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 25, 1947.

Surviving Mrs. Kassebaum are her husband, Casper; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Cox of Jordan, Mont., Mrs. H.D. Allison of Los Angeles and Miss Frieda Kassebaum, at home; five sons, George of West Point, Herman of Coulter, Ia., Edgar of Sioux City, Oscar of Latimer, Ia., and Clarence of Arlington. Two children preceded their mother in death.

Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arlington --- Louise (nee) Stork Kassebaum was born September 28, 1874 at Arlington to the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stork. She was married to Casper Kassebaum February 25, 1897 and to this union ten children were born. Two of the children preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Kassebaum has lived her entire life in Arlington vicinity. They lived on a farm northeast of Arlington until March 1945 when they retired and moved into Arlington. Mr. and Mrs. Kassebaum celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on February 25, 1947.

She passed away at their home here in Arlington Sunday, September 19, 1948, having been bedfast since March of 1948.

Mrs. Kassebaum leaves her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Cox (Lena), of Jordon, Montana, Mrs. H.D. Allison (Alvia) of Los Angeles, California and Fredia of Arlington, five sons, George of West Point, Nebraska, Oscar of Latmer, Iowa, Edgar of Sioux City, Iowa, Herman of Coulter, Iowa, and Clarence of Arlington besides eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Reckmeyer funeral home in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery.
