Mildred Kastrup, 77

Funeral services for Mildred “Millie” Kastrup, 77, of Blair, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at First Lutheran Church. Private graveside services will be at the Blair Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mildred Kastrup died at her residence on July 16 after a lengthy illness.

Mildred Kastrup was born on July 11, 1922, in Mebane, N.C. She was the daughter of Frederick and Daisy (Shanklin) Snipes. She attended The Chester Pennsylvania High School.

From 1941 to 1945, she worked at the Pentagon. From 1945 to 1947, she lived in Chester, Penn., moved to Laurel, and then to Blair in 1948. She worked for Nebraska-Iowa Supply from 1963 to 1988, serving as their bookkeeper.

She married Carlo Kastrup on Dec. 2, 1944, in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Donna Woodworth of Omaha, a son, Richard Kastrup of Lawrence, Kan., four grandchildren, Marcus Woodworth, Luke John Kastrup, Keli Kastrup, Megan Kastrup; a great-grandson, John Woodworth; two brothers, John Snipes and William Snipes, both of Florida; a sister, Marie Lampert of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John Kastrup, and a brother, James Snipes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
