Richard A. Kastrup, 56

Memorial services will be held for Richard A. Kastrup, 56, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2002, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Mr. Kastrup, of Lawrence, Kan., died Monday, Apr 8, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Richard A. Kastrup was born Oct. 17, 1945, in Chester, Penn., to Carlo and Mildred (Snipes) Kastrup. He lived in Blair from 1947 to 1967.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1967, and was in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Wayne State University in Wayne, Neb., in 1969, with a bachelor of science degree in business.

He moved to Wichita, Kan., in 1969 to become branch manager for Morris Plan, where he managed office in Wichita and Shawnee, Okla. He then worked at Davis Moore Automotive as the finance and insurance manager. He lived in Clearwater, Kan., from 1978 until moving to Lawrence in 1997.

He was a past member of the Wichita Cosmopolitan Club, secretary of the Wichita Consumer Loan Exchange, was a committee member on the Wichita Chamber of Commerce and the Kansas Cornhusker Club. In Lawrence, he was a member of the Kansas University Quarterback Club.

He was married to Rebecca Owen. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Laurie Lynn Root of Omaha, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.

Memorials are suggested to the Williams Educational Fund at the University of Kansas, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
