Emil Kay, 91 Died Dec. 13th

Emil Kay, a long-time resident of Ft. Calhoun, died last Friday, December 13th.

He was born in Kiel, Germany, March 21, 1883, and died at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 22 days.

He came to America at the age of 4 and grew to manhood in Fort Calhoun.

In 1907 he was united in marriage to Emma Neumann at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Harold of Ashland, Mrs. Viola Thornburg, Ashland, and Mrs. Marjorie Merrill of Gretna.

The family lived on a farm at Fort Calhoun until 1921; then they moved to Gretna. Upon retiring in 1965 Mr. and Mrs. Kay moved to a small farm near Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, in 1972. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
