Nona F. Kay, 67

Nona F. Kay, 67, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at her home in Arlington from complications with multiple system atrophy.

Funeral services are pending with Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont.

Nona F. Nielsen was born July 1, 1940, in Omaha to Mike and Bee Nielsen. She graduated from Blair High School in 1957, and attended Dana College for two years.

On Aug. 2, 1959, she married Gene Kay at the Methodist Church in Blair. She was a former member of Arlington Community Church, where she taught Sunday School, helped organize Bible school, and served on various church committees. She was most recently a member at First United Methodist Church in Fremont, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, a facilitator for Rainbows, and taught Bible school.

Mrs. Kay had been active in the Washington County 4-H program and had been leader of the Arlington Do-Bees 4-H Club.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Neal Mock of Albion and Lori and Eric Holstein of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Debbie Kay of Houston, Texas; six grandsons; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Ron Pierson of Lincoln.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Fremont.

KAY – Nona F., passed away on February 20, 2008 in her home from complications associated with Multiple System Atrophy. She was born in Omaha, NE to Mike and Bee Nielsen on July 1, 1940. She graduated from Blair High School in 1957 and attended Dana College for two years. She married Gene Kay on August 2, 1959 in the Blair Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cindy Mock (and husband Neal) of Albion, NE, Lori Holstein (and husband Eric) of Omaha, NE; a son Alan Kay (and wife Debbie) of Houston, TX; a sister Ann Pierson (and husband Ron of Lincoln, NE; 6 grandsons.

Visitation: Friday, February 22, 2008 at 8 PM, family present from 6-8. Memorial Service: 11 AM Saturday February 23, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Private Burial at Arlington Cemetery.
