Reuben W. Kay, 89, former resident of Washington County, died Thursday, July 17, 1997 at the Citadel Care Center in Mesa, Ariz. Private services were conducted by Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel of Mesa.

Kay was born to Carl and Ida (Moeller) Kay on Jan. 23, 1908. He was a farmer and cattleman on the family farm in southeast Washington County for most of his life. In the 1960s, he went to Arizona and settled in the Mesa area several years later. He had been a resident of the Citadel Care Center for several years.

Among his survivors is his niece, Ilene Kay Ewoldt Kirk of Omaha.
