CARL V. SMITH, 79

Carl V. Smith, 79, of Bennington, died July 28, 2004, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Memorial services are 6 p.m. Friday, july 30, at Johnston Mortuary, 1234 S. 10th Street, Omaha.

Mr. Smith was a former employee of Roberts Dairy. He was a member of the Arlington American Legion and VFW Post No. 8342.

He is survived by his second wife, Beverly; son and daughter-in-law, Michael V. and Linda Smith; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Catherine and Buryl Thumpser, and Carly L. Smith; stepchildren: Brent, Christopher and Robin Yeager; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Mae; and grandson, James Thumpser.
