Funeral services for E. Arline Smith, 92, were held Saturday, April 16, 1988, at Sievers Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun with Rev. Dale Sanders officiating.

Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

She died April 14, 1988, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Arline was born February 13, 1896, in DeSoto to Lee and Victoria Smith.

She graduated from Fort Calhoun High School in 1912 and Blair in 1913, and did post-graduate work at the University of Chicago, Creighton and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Arline taught school at Nampa, Idaho; Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; Tecumseh, Nebraska; and completed 29 years in the English department at Omaha Tech High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Seymour L. Smith and Roland P. Smith.

Arline is survived by sister-in-law Eva Smith of Blair, two nephews, Roland Smith Jr. of Blair and Robert Smith of Springfield, and by one niece, Vivian Myers of London, England.

Serving as casket bearers were John MacKnight, Jeffery Smith, Mike Moore and Roland Smith Jr.
