EMMA H. SMITH, 88 Services were Wednesday, February 22, at First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins, Colorado for Emma H. Smith, 88, of Fort Collins, who died at her home February 19. Rev. Robert L. Hamilton officiated. Entombment was February 23 in Evergreen Shrine of Rest at Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Emma H. Smith was born September 28, 1900 in Washington County, Nebraska. She married Harold Edwin Smith on January 9, 1924 in Washington County.

She attended public schools in Washington County and Midland College in Fremont in the 1920’s. A homemaker, she was an excellent seamstress and worked out of her home doing custom dressmaking and draperies while in Fort Collins.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins. A lover of flowers, she was also a member of the local Lawn and Garden Clubs. She played piano and organ and loved singing.

Formerly a Fremont, Nebraska resident, she had lived in Fort Collins since 1951.

She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Smith of Fort Collins, Colorado; a son, Dr. Vern R. Smith, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a daughter, Lindi “Pearl” Lindstrom, Alameda, California. One brother, Paul Sprick of Fremont, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Goodrich Chapel, 301 E. Olice St., Fort Collins, Colorado, who was in charge of arrangements for the services.
