MISS EVA SMITH DIED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING

Miss Eva Smith, a lifelong resident of Blair, died early Saturday at the Good Shepherd Home where she had lived for several years. Miss Smith was 94 years of age, having been born in Blair on December 6th, 1881.

As a younger woman, she was a school teacher. Later she became a clerk in the Kolterman Ben Franklin Store, a position which she held for several decades.

She was never married.

She is survived by six nephews and one niece, none of whom live in the Midwest area. She had no relatives in Blair or Washington County.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Bendorf Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. and burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

EVA SMITH SERVICES HELD APRIL 21

Services for Miss Eva Caroline Smith, age 94, were held on Wednesday, April 21. Miss Smith died on Saturday, April 17, at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Miss Smith was born on December 8, 1881 at Blair, Nebraska to John F. Smith and Phoebe Epler Smith.

Burial was in the Blair Cemetery with Rev. James Metzgar officiating and Bendorf Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Randell Smith, Noel Smith, Clyde Sappenfield, Hjalmer Quist, W. Douglas Carter and Robert McMillan.

Miss Smith is survived by five nephews.
