Edna Cleola Safley Keats, 87

Services were Wednesday, February 12 at Hopkins Christian Church in Hopkins, Missouri for Edna Cleola Safley Keats, 87 of Hopkins who died February 10, 1992 at Village Care Center in Maryville, Missouri. Rev. Mark Imel officiated. Hopkins Order of Eastern Star services were Tuesday, February 11 at Price Funeral Home Chapel in Maryville. Burial was in Gaynor Cemetery in Parnell, Missouri.

Edna Cleola Safley Keats was born March 2, 1904 at Hopkins, Missouri to Alvin Denver and Adel Davis Florea. She lived in the Hopkins area her entire life.

A homemaker, she was a member of Hopkins Christian Church, Women’s Christian Fellowship, Hopkins Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Prairie Flower club of Hopkins.

She married Virgil Ingram in 1926. He preceded her in death in 1928. In 1934, she married Mervin Gilbert Safley. He preceded her in death September 29, 1973.

She married Galen Keats June 5, 1976 in Hopkins, Missouri.

In addition to her first two husbands, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Brice Florea, Virgin Florea and Glen Florea and one sister, Blanche Salen.

She is survived by her husband, Galen; one son, Harland Safley and his wife Darlene of Blair; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Havens, Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Donald Florea of Wichita, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.

Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
