Services were Saturday, March 4 at Kahler Dolce Mortuary in Papillion for William E. Anson, Sr., 87 of Omaha and formerly of Arlington who died March 1, 1995 at Immanuel Nursing Home in Omaha. Burial was in the Springfield Cemetery in Springfield.

William E. Anson, Sr., was born and raised in the Springfield area. He served in the Philippines during World War II and was discharged with many honors.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Club in Arlington.

He was employed by Marshall Nurseries for many years.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard, Andon, Logan and Randall and sisters, Martha Sluyter and Iola Olson.

He is survived by his wife, Alice C.; children and spouses, Karen and Orval Knutson, John and Sandy Kook and Marilyn and Neal Peters, all of Omaha and William, Jr. and Pat Anson of Elkhorn; brothers, Robert of Murdock, Gilbert of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Masel of Bellevue, Sherman and Stanley of Omaha; sisters, May Baker of Phoenix, Arizona; Mildred Thoms of Weeping Water and Ruth Ewing of Orville, California; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
