ONE-TIME COUNTY FARMER BURIED AT TEKAMAH

Mearl Eugene Anthony, former resident of Washington County, died at the Tekamah Senior Citizen’s Home March 7th, where he had been a resident since last June.

He was born December 11th, 1884 at Fulton, Missouri and he grew to manhood there. On December 2, 1908 he was united in marriage to Minnie Mae Loftis of Blair. They became the parents of two children. They lived in Missouri for a number of years and moved to Nebraska in 1922 where they farmed in Washington and Burt Counties.

In December Mr. Anthony observed his 87th birthday. Earlier, the couple had celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.

Survivors are his wife, son, Clayton of Milan, Illinois and daughter, Martha of Omaha. Two brothers and a sister also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 9th at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah and burial was made in the Tekamah cemetery.
