MINNIE LOFTIS ANTHONY BURIED AT TEKAMAH

Funeral services were held at Hamel and Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah Monday, March 1, for Minnie May Loftis Anthony who died February 25, 1982.

Rev. Melva Tranmer conducted the services. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Minnie May Loftis Anthony was born in the Vacoma area near Herman on May 1, 1887, to Mary and Caleb Loftis. She married Mearl E. Anthony in Blair on December 2, 1908.

They farmed near Fulton, Missouri until 1922, when they returned to Nebraska and farmed in Burt and Washington County. They retired and moved to Tekamah in 1966. She had been a resident of Crowell Home for the past five years.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Craig and in earlier years worked with the Adler Grove United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mearl E. Anthony; one son, Clayton; four sisters; and six brothers.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha, of Omaha; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Anthony of Craig; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A number of nieces and nephews also survive her.

Pallbearers were Roger Johnson, Roland Sommerer, Marion Loftis, Leonard Loftis, Freeman Loftis and Floyd Loftis.

Linda Kuhl was organist. Shirley Schmidt was soloist.

Hamel and Peck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
