RUDOLPH MENCKE BURIED TUESDAY

Mr. Rudolph Mencke, 79, died April 10th at the McBride Nursing Home where he had resided for the past year.

Mr. Mencke was born April 3, 1886 to Gust and Minnie (Goedecker) Mencke. He was married in 1908 to Mell Ryan. They were the parents of five children.

Farming was the occupation of Mr. Mencke until he retired in 1931. Mr. and Mrs. Mencke observed their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1958.

His wife passed away in February 1963. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bateman of Blair; Mrs. Marguerite Donahue of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Mrs. Gretchen Long of Omaha; and two sons, James of Blair and Raymond of Medford, Oregon. Also seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One sister, Mrs. Augusta Ryan of Blair and four brothers, Otto, Hans, Jack of Blair and George of Arlington also survive.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church where funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 13th. The Rev. George Pallesen officiated and burial was in the Blair Cemetery. The Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were : Otto, Hans, Jack and George Mencke; Alfred Nelson and Chris Korshoj.

Mr. Rudolph Mencke passed away Saturday morning April 10th at the McBride Nursing Home. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bateman of Blair; Mrs. Marguerite Donahue of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Mrs. Gretchen Long of Omaha and two sons, James Mencke of Blair and Raymond Mencke of Medford, Oregon. Also four brothers and one sister.
