William Mencke

Will Mencke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Mencke of Blair, died at Florence on Tuesday of Spanish influenza. The funeral was held at Florence. Will Mencke was born in Blair and lived here until a few years ago when he engaged in the mercantile business at Florence. He leaves besides the widow, two sons, Carl and Glen; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Mencke; several brothers and sisters. He was well known and highly respected by all who knew him. #2-Published in Enterprise on 18 October 1918 Wm. Mencke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Mencke, of this city, died at an Omaha hospital on last Tuesday a.m. after an illness of a week, a victim of Spanish influenza. He was engaged in the grocery trade at Florence, and the funeral was held at the home there, on Thursday, interment being at Forest Lawn cemetery, Omaha.
