Anna Ferguson Died At Age of 71

Funeral services for Anna Dorothea (Puls) Ferguson were held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington on Saturday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Norman Schroeder officiating. Organist was Miriam Sukraw. The vocalists were Ken and Miriam Sukraw. Casket bearers were: Melvin Bunz, Carl Puls, Ronald Wulf, Roger Wulf, Elmer Petersen, and Chester Witte. Interment was in the German Cemetery. Kremer Funeral Home of Omaha, Nebraska, was in charge of arrangements. Ushers were Lars Weberg and Howard Christensen.

Anna Dorothea (Puls) Ferguson, daughter of Carl and Anna (Bergmann) Puls was born November 2, 1912, in southern Washington County. She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran Church July 13, 1912, and confirmed her faith May 9, 1926, at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Pastor Ahrens officiating.

Anna attended the Dornacker School.

She was united in marriage to Harold Bunz on March 8, 1932. Two sons were born to this union. The family lived in Bennington until 1944 and then moved to a farm north of Bennington.

Anna was married to Eugene Ferguson on April 17, 1963. From 1957 until 1978 she was employed at Clearview.

Anna died on Wednesday, July 25, following a brief illness, at the age of 71 years, eight months and 23 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister and sister, Margaret, and one brother, Herbert Puls and sister-in-law, Marie.

She is survived by her husband Eugene Ferguson; two sons, Gene and Leland Bunz; daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandson, Scott Bunz; two sisters, Lillie Wulf of Kennard, Nebraska, and Hulda Wrich of Blair; and one brother, Fred Puls of Arlington, Nebraska.
