MRS. MICHAEL KELLY DIES

Mrs. Michael Kelly, aged 90 years, died at her home, 2120 Burdette, Sunday morning. The cause of death was old age. The funeral will be held at 9 o’clock this morning from Sacred Heart church, interment being in St. Mary’s cemetery, South Omaha.

Mrs. Kelly’s home was on the edge of the tornado zone. The glass in all the windows was shattered, but it is not believed that the storm had anything to do with her death, as she was unconscious at the time and did not know what was happening.

Mrs. Kelly came to this country from Ireland in 1854, going first to Wabash, Ind. In 1856 she came to Omaha and has been here since. She is survived by four sons and two daughters: Daniel F., John R. and Timothy of Omaha; Michael L. of Calhoun, Miss Julia Kelly of Omaha and Mrs. J. J. Shinnick of Calhoun.

Grandma Kelly, one of those bright, cheery daughters of Erin, lived at Garryowen in this Washington county perhaps fifty years, where she endured the hardships of early pioneer life and with her late husband brought up a fine family. This writer was sometimes a guest of theirs over thirty years ago and their memory is very dear to us. She was a member of the Catholic church for many years.
