Services Held On Monday For Elvena Kempcke

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at First Lutheran Church for Elvena J. Kempcke, 87, who died July 2, 1981, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Rev. Kurt Sortland conducted the services. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Elvena J. Kempcke was born November 15, 1893 to Jacob and Annie E. Julisen Andreasen at Kennard, Nebraska. On December 21, 1914, she married Paul Kempcke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1945; and one son, Arnold James, who died in infancy.

She is survived by four sons, Gordon Kempcke, Eldred Kempcke, Arthur Kempcke, all of Blair; and Dean Kempcke, Fremont. Two brothers, Arthur Andreasen, Lyons, Nebraska; and Elmer Andreasen, Blair; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive her.

Pallbearers were Paul Kempcke, G. Philip Kempcke, Jeffrey Kempcke, Bruce Kempcke, Thomas Marquis and Daniel Harms.

Claire Cowing was organist, Homer Nielsen provided the vocal music.

Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
