Dr. M. F. Kennelly

M. F. Kennelly, father of Mrs. Elmer Wright, who has been so sick with pneumonia, passed away at the Wright home last Sunday evening at 8 o’clock. Mr. Kennelly was born in New Haven, Conn., June 14, 1856, and came west in 1880. He was united in marriage to Miss Laura Hillen in 1892, who preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 1906. Surviving him are his three daughters, Mrs. Wright of Kennard, Mrs. Walter Weed of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Mrs. Fred Wachter of Fremont, and one son, Frank, of Twin Falls, Ida. Mr. Kennelly had come here last fall to spend the winter with Mrs. Wright. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Stoner at the residence yesterday afternoon. A large circle of friends sympathize with the family.

Michael L. Kenely died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wright, Kennard, at 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Kenely was taken ill about two weeks ago. On the 4th inst. pneumonia developed. Sunday the patient, who was under the care of a trained nurse, began to sink rapidly and death followed. Burial was at Kennard Tuesday afternoon.

Michael L. Kenely practiced veterinary surgery years ago in the building now occupied by Drs. Hammond & Peebles. At one time he operated the old Baltimore Hotel in Fremont. After leaving Blair “Doc” Kenely located at Yakima, Wash. and later moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where he resided until about a year ago when he removed to Kennard where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wright. His wife died in Yakima, Washington. Three daughters, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Walter Weed, Of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mrs. Fred Wachter, Jr., of Fremont, are the immediate surviving relatives.

Died. Dr. M. F. Kennelly, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wright, on Sunday, Feb. 11, and was buried Feb. 13, in the Kennard cemetery, Rev. Stoner officiating. Mr. Kennelly was born in New Haven, Conn., June 14, 1856, and came west in 1880, and in 1882 he was married to Miss Laura Pilant to whom four children were born. She died Feb. 23, 1906. He leaves to mourn his death Mrs. Elmer Wright, of Kennard; Mrs. Fred Wachter, of Fremont; Mrs. Walter Weed, of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Frank Kennelly, of Twin Falls, Idaho. Mr. Kennely was well known in this county as a veterinary.

Note: Mr. Keneley is buried in Blk 3 Lt 18 Sp 3 in the Kennard Cemetery.
