Allen O. Mueller, 91

Allen O. Mueller, 91, of rural Arlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Hooper Care Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. Interment with military honors will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Allen O. Mueller was born July 11, 1919, to Herbert and Lena (Bartling) Mueller. He graduated from Immanuel Lutheran grade school and Hartung School, then attended Lincoln Aeronautic School.

He worked at the Martin Bomber plant then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. After his military service, he began farming and raising purebred Polled Shorthorn cattle his entire life.

On April 7, 1946, he married Helen Fischer. She died in November of 1970. On March 18, 1972, he married Lorene Struening.

He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow, where he was currently a member. He was also a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League, Farm Bureau, American Shorthorn Association, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and had been a 4-H leader and served as trustee and held various offices at Immanuel.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene, of Hooper; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Steve Nast of Lincoln, Virginia and Allan McDuffee of Glendale, Ariz., and Deborah and Steve Pawling of Scribner; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willis and Verda Mueller of North Bend, Orlando and Lois Mueller of Hooper; sisters-in-law, Mildred Bartling of Hastings, Edna Panning and Alice Bartling, both of Fremont; brothers-in-law and wives, Elmer and Sue Struening of New York, and LeRoy and Joyce Fischer of Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the family's choice.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Hooper is in charge of arrangements.
