Melvin Kephart, 61, Died At Blair Hospital Friday

Melvin Dale Kephart, a resident of Ft. Calhoun, died last Friday at the Blair Hospital at the age of 61. He was born at Pacific Junction, Iowa November 6, 1914 but had lived in the Ft. Calhoun area for a number of years. He was engaged in the construction business.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie, and by five sons: Harold, of Blair, James of Omaha, Dale of Blair, Victor of Fremont and Vinton of Ft. Calhoun. There are also two stepchildren, Eugene Allen of Council Bluffs and Barbara Nielsen of West Point, Nebraska.

Also surviving are four brothers and four sisters. The brothers are Elvin and Gene Kephart of Council Bluffs, Ross Kephart of Treynor, Iowa and Claude Kephart of California. The sisters are Mrs. Maude Jones and Mrs. Fern Aaberg, both of Blair, Mrs. Lucille Adney of Tennessee and Mrs. Leona Plambeck, of Millard, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Monday morning with the Rev. Ray Phelps of the First Christian Church conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Miller, Richard Baxter, Elmer Haynie, Bernie Leonard, Robert Petersen and Harold Larsen.
