Mrs. Nena Keppell

Mrs. Nena Keppell died at her home in this city last Wednesday of cancer of the liver and dropsy and the funeral was held at the Christian church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. J.B. Williams officiating. Deceased was born in Marietta, Ohio, Feb. 1st, 1860, and was therefore past 57 years of age. She was married there to Joseph M. Morrison and three children were born to them. Twenty-nine years ago she was married to Jacob Keppell in this city and three children resulted from this union also. But three of the six children born to her are now living, L. A. Morrison, Arthur J. Keppell and Mrs. Aubrey Thompson. Mrs. Keppell had not been well for some time but bore her sufferings bravely, as she had learned to do in the hard school of life. She became a member of the Christian church a number of years ago and her three children followed their mother’s example in a short time. Her body was laid to rest by the side of Mr. Keppell, who death occurred in 1902.

Mrs. Nena Ra Keppell of this city passed away at her home on last Wednesday, September 19.

Mrs. Keppell was born in Marietta, Ohio in 1860 and with her husband came to northern Iowa in 1883 and to this county twenty-nine years ago.

Deceased was known as a good Christian woman and has many close friends who mourn her death and extend their sympathies to the bereaved children; Mr. L. A. Morrison, Mrs. A. J. Keppell and Mrs. A. V. Thompson.

The funeral services were held at the Christian Church on the last Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. B. Williams and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Nena Keppell Passes To Great Beyond

Mrs. Nena Keppell, a resident of Blair for twenty-nine years, passed away at her home on September 19, 1917, of dropsy and cancer of the liver. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Christian Church and were conducted by Rev. J. B. Williams, interment being made in the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Keppell was born in Marietta, Ohio, February 1, 1860, and at the age of 23 years was married at Marietta to Joseph M. Morrison. They were later divorced and in 1886 she was married to Jacob Keppell in Blair, where she has since resided. Mrs. Keppell was the mother of six children, three of who survive her. They are L. A. Morrison, Arthur J. Keppel and Mrs. A. V. Thompson.
