Services For Jesse Kern To Be Thursday

Services for 84 year old Jesse S. Kern will be held on Thursday, January 19th. Mr. Kern passed away at the Blair Hospital on Monday, January 16th.

Services will be at 11 a.m. in the First Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Patterson officiating. Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements with burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Kern was born in Hamlin, Kansas on August 4, 1893. He was married to Ione Hughes and the couple lived at 1362 Colfax street in Blair. Mr. Kern was a carpenter by profession.

He is survived by his wife Ione, five children, 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Hansen, Blair; Forrest Kern, Ainsworth, Nebr.; Dale Kern, Fullerton, California; Dayton Kern, Naples, Florida and Mrs. Glen (Mary) Baker, Ainsworth, Nebraska.

Surviving brothers and sisters are: Mrs. Clara Bostwick, Garden Grove, California; Mrs. Blueford (Mamie) Orchard, Ruport, Idaho; Mrs. Ruth Pyle, Hamlin, Kansas; and Mrs. Earl (Anna) Geer, Port Huron, Michigan.

Pallbearers will be Carl Watts, Bill Williby, Roy I. Anderson, D.L. Sidebottom, Don Feer and Gene Olson.
