June M. Renshaw, 83

June M. Renshaw, 83, of Tekamah, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha after battling colon cancer and lung-related health issues.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

June Marie Hemmingsen was born June 28, 1927, in Tekamah to Walter Emil and Minnie Blanche (Olsen) Hemmingsen.

She lived in Tekamah her entire life, receiving her education at country school and graduating from Tekamah High School in 1944. She worked as a local telephone operator until the birth of her first child.

On Dec. 22, 1950, she married Russell Renshaw in Papillion.

Mrs. Renshaw loved to make hand-crafted items, and sold her creations at area craft shows for more than 35 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading and raising flowers. Her favorite activity was having coffee and visiting in her home with family and friends. She was a regular participant at the Blair Farmers Market. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Beth; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joni Renshaw, Jan and Dick Rasmussen, Annette and Michael Tomasiewicz; brother, Paul Hemmingsen all of Tekamah; sister, Margaret Smith of Milwaukee, Wis.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; brother, Walt Hemmingsen, and grandson, Aaron Rasmussen.
