MRS. MENKING FUNERAL HELD

RITES HELD AT KENNARD FOR MRS. MENKING, LONG A COUNTIAN

Funeral services were held at the Kennard Methodist Church Wednesday, Apr. 28, for Mrs. Bertha Menking, 73, who died in Omaha Apr. 23. Burial followed in Kennard Cemetery.

Bertha Tietsort was born at Logan, Ia. Jan. 28, 1876, and moved to Nebraska with her parents when a small girl. She and Charles Widener were married Aug. 16, 1897. To them were born five children, two of whom survive, Mrs. Clara French and Mrs. Dorothy Rosenbaum, both of Omaha. Mr. Widener died in May, 1928. In May, 1929, she was married to George Menking of Kennard, who preceded her in death in 1942.

She has made her home in Omaha the past two years.

Surviving Mrs. Menking besides her two daughters are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also a brother, Henry Tietsort of Omaha.

MRS. G. MENKING DIES APRIL 25TH

Bertha Tietsort was born at Logan, Ia. January 28, 1876, and moved to Nebraska with her parents when but a small girl.

She was married to Chas. Widener August 16, 1897. To this union 5 children were born, two of whom survive her, Mrs. Clara French and Mrs. Dorothy Rosenbaum of Omaha, also five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also one brother, Henry Tietsort of Omaha.

She united with the M. E. church at Kennard in 1920. Mr. Widener passed away in May, 1928.

In May of 1929 she was married to Mr. George Menking of Kennard who preceded her in death in October, 1942. She has made her home in Omaha the past two years.

Mrs. Menking passed away at Immanuel Hospital, Omaha Monday, April 25, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 27 days, leaving a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

As a former postmistress of Kennard and a long-time resident of that place, she leaves many friends to mourn her death.
