RICHARD MENKING

Richard D. Menking, 64 of Fremont, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born Dec. 6, 1945, in Willows, Calif., to Richard L. and Cora “Connie” (Vermillion) Menking. He grew up in Arlington and was a 1963 graduate of Arlington High School. After high school, he moved to Fremont. He did construction work and also drove truck for several area companies.

He married Cynthia “Cindy” Dunson on Sept. 8, 1984, in Fremont.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include: his wife; two sons, Dustin (and wife, Teresa) Menking of Nickerson and Bradly Menking of Fremont; two brothers, Donald (and wife, Cheri) Menking of Fremont and Joel (and wife, Carolyn) Menking of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister-in-law, Sue Menking of Fremont; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

There is no public service or visitation.
