Tony Dexter Sears, 36

Tony D. Sears, age 36, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4th, 1988 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Tony was born on Dec. 7th , 1951 at Blair, Nebraska to Max H. and Rachel (Miller) Sears. Tony had worked in a gas station in Oakland for two years prior to operating his own station in Lyons for a short time. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1974, and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Decatur.

Survivors include his mother, Rachel Sears of Decatur; two sisters: Trudi Bohlken of Lincoln and Sally Santos of San Jose, California; two brothers: Rex Sears of Decatur and Danny Sears of Blair. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Max H. Sears on Feb. 18, 1987.

Funeral Services were held at 2 PM on Thursday, Sept. 8, 1988 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur with Rev. Brion P. Tolzman officiating. Interment was in Yellow Smoke Cemetery north of Decatur.
