Margaret Appel died in early February 1998.

She had lived in Maple Lake, Minn., for many years after moving away from Blair.

Among her survivors is her sister, Eileen Jordan and a sister-in-law, Christine Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Appel, who died as the result of a heart attack in September 1997.
